Parent & Child Cycle Training Courses
Parent, grandparent or any adult, these courses are a great way to learn how to cycle safely on roads or just brush up your skills with your child.
You will be with one of our National Standard cycling instructors who deliver our school and adult training. They are all regular day to day cyclists with a lot of experience and have DBS checks and first aid training.
We can arrange a time and date to suit you but mainly at weekends and school holidays. Training is free for families in Chesterfield and NE Derbyshire but we do need a deposit when you book which will be refunded when the training takes place.
We expect the session to last around 2 to 3 hours and additional sessions are available if needed.
Courses start and finish in the Queen's Park in Chesterfield and will include a traffic free section to begin with so you can have time to settle in! Bikes and helmets are available for hire too.

What will you be doing?
The course can be tailored to your requirements but it will broadly follow a Bikeability Level 2 format (see here) unless you ask for something more specific.
If the instructor and yourselves feel happy they may introduce more challenging Level 3 roads.
The course is funded by a combination of school Bikeability funding and adult 'County Rider' (Derbyshire County Council) funding. The adult will need to fill in both our form and Derbyshire County Council's form - booking a course here leads you through that process.
